This product came defective and would not turn on at all despite several attempts with a brand new pack of batteries. It felt cheap and would not work. When I wrote a review, the company messaged me 4 times over the course of several weeks offering me money to remove the fact-based review that it simply would not turn on. When I agreed to give them the benefit of the doubt and remove the review since they claim to be a small business that could suffer as a result, their offer of PayPal or Amazon credit proved to be a scam. Watch out for these type of fake offers on Amazon :-(

Really disappointed with this Doppler!
If you are already a little anxious and would like to buy one for reassurance please don’t buy this.

I got home from work and unpacked the Doppler straight away, popped brand new batteries in and it doesn’t turn on! I had seen other reviews mentioning this but thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt.

I have tried numerous brand new batteries and it still won’t switch on. I’ve now ordered a Doppler to rent on another site, and will have to wait 2 days for the delivery. In the meantime I will still be feeling anxious, I was really looking forward to putting my mind at rest with this today and now I’m left still a little anxious as I haven’t been able to use it.

I have started a return for this, really frustrating to say the least!

I bought this machine after two miscarriages, I wanted to be able to reassure myself all was ok. When I first got the machine it wouldn’t turn on but I was persistent and eventually it turned on! Heard baby’s heart beat at 13 weeks and was delighted with my purchase. Unfortunately over the following days the machine is very temperamental and sometimes just will not turn on leaving me more anxious than ever to hear the heartbeat. After an hour of trying this morning the machine will just not turn on, I’ve changed the batteries but unfortunately it makes no difference. Such a shame because when it works it’s fabulous!

Great tool if you know how to properly use it

As long as you know where on your abdomen to place the probe (anywhere between pubic symphysis and the belly button) and be aware that it's only really possible to hear the heart beat after 15-16 weeks (as the baby has grown enough to now be out of the pelvis and heart beat is audible) and also be aware that the baby's heart beat is around 150 beats per minute and not around 70 (which is your own heart beat) then it's a great tool. Also, having the patience to slowly move the probe around to search for the tiny heart. As a doctor with knowledge of anatomy, I found this extremely easy to use and very reassuring before you can start feeling the baby move. It isn't as powerful as the ones we use in the hospital but it's definitely powerful enough to hear a strong fetal heartbeat. I discussed having a home doppler with my midwife and she says they do not recommend people get one as people typically do not know how to correctly use it. She told me some people place the probe near their own heart and claim they can hear the baby's heart beat.

So over all, use with caution! Excellent for the price paid, will continue to use it throughout pregnancy for reassurance. Would highly recommend in the right hands.

Small light and easy to use, nice LED screen to see the BPM and a decent speaker to hear the heart beat. you also have the option for headphones - I am yet to try this but I would assume its the same or a little better depending on the headphone quality.

All in all, we are happy with the purchase, and my partner is now more at ease being able to hear our son's heartbeat on those lazy days when she cannot feel him at all - we are only 17 weeks at the moment but can clearly hear the heart almost the same as our last private scan (gender and health check (16 weeks))

Have to press the on button several times or hold it down for 10 seconds to switch on. Sometimes we change the batteries and it still won’t switch on but when we use an old battery with a new it worked? We tried to return it but Hermes never picked it up so we do use.

We initially bought it as we had a miscarriage earlier this year and wanted to hear our rainbow baby’s heart beat.
