Bargain price but things to consider.

We have voile curtains on a couple of small windows and the wire and hooks were looking tatty and rusted ( on the bathroom window due to condensation). I thought this would be perfect to replace the old wires with. On opening it you get 4m of wire and 8 of each hook and eye fittings. The wire was a little thinner than the existing ones we had but it was easy to cut to length with wire cutters. You want to cut it shorter than the length across where you are fitting the wire. Our window is 2 ft across and I cut it about 3 inch shorter. You need it shorter to create the tension so the curtain/ voile doesn’t sag. Then you just screw an eye in each end of the wire and screw the hooks into your window surround. Ours is wood so I just created a pilot hole with a bradawl. I couldn’t use the existing holes as the screws were smaller. Then just thread your wire through the top of your net / voile and hook it into place. For our small window and lightweight voile this worked perfectly and looks a lot better than my old fittings. My only word of caution is because the wire is fairly thin if you were fitting heavyweight net curtains across a much longer distance then you might get some sagging. We tried it across a large 2 metre window and the tension required to hold the net tight pulled the hooks from the window frame. The hooks have a relatively small thread on them which you can see in my picture. So in conclusion this kit is a bargain price as you get everything you need but it’s really only suitable for lightweight nets or voile curtains and is better across a smaller window. It’s perfect for my needs but it won’t be strong enough for every scenario.
