I have used Cuticura talc for many years and I first bought it when I lived in the tropics, where the brand is very popular. The subject of fungal infection is not pleasant, but neither is it shameful. We all have folds in our skin where the potential for bacteria to grow is greater when we get hot and sweaty. I can’t comment on how effective the talc is for dry skin conditions, but for certain fungal conditions it’s really good. A short while ago my elderly, overweight mother had a painful, infected patch of skin in the fold behind her knee. After cleaning the area with Cuticura soap twice a day, and drying it gently and thoroughly, I dusted it lightly with Cuticura talc. In just three days the skin was back to normal. Obviously, this treatment is good for mild infections only, because conditions such as ringworm etc. would require an anti-fungal cream.
I use this talc every day and I wouldn’t use any other. It has a very pleasant, non-medicinal scent, and its texture is lovely and soft. I highly recommend it.
