I ordered this product as a trial, as I'm considering replacing my usual toilet paper (bulk bought from Costco) in an effort to reduce plastic and be more environmentally friendly. But obviously I had to see what other family members thought.

My husband and I liked that it didn't come in any form of plastic but were a bit surprised at how small the rolls were. This didn't matter though, as no paper at all flaked off when ripping the sheets, it was very strong and less sheets were needed per toilet visit, therefore less paper used. The bamboo based paper is of course biodegradable, flushes easily. It came wrapped in recycled paper packaging, so that was recycled except that it had to be rescued from the bin because my 18 year old didn't realise that the paper was recyclable so just threw it in the normal bin, smh!!! Never mind, easily sorted out. Neither my sons nor my daughter noticed much of a difference between this and our usual brand, only the lack of mess, and if they notice anything negative at all, they are very quick to complain!!!

The only real issuesthat we had was looking at the price of ordering in bulk, which is what we would be doing as a family. £40 seemed a bit much, so whilst bearing this paper in mind, we will be ordering further 4 packs of other brands of environmentally friendly toilet paper to see which ones we like the best. Also, if we order in bulk there appears to be some plastic involved.

Next one to try is Greencane toilet paper as it's sugar based. X

I try to be as environmental friendly as I can, so I thought I would give these toilet rolls a try. I bought the pack of 4, and was pleased to see that they came in a paper wrapper. The first time I unwrapped the roll, I was shocked to see just how thin the sheets were (I usually buy quilted), but then to my suprise, they are also incredibly strong, so I used the same amount of sheets as I did with the quilted ones.

I must admit, I was a bit nervous about using this, as I read the review about someone's toilet blocking, and flooding! My toilet doesn't have a very enthusiastic flush, and the day just before the Covid lockdown, my cistern mysteriously lost water, so it's not even flushing as well as it usually does!

I am disabled by chronic illness, and I am unable to manage to keep my house neat, tidy and clean, so besides the obvious environmental benefits, I also boughtthem, as I had read that they don't shed paper fluff, like ordinary rolls. I'm sure there is a paper fluff monster living in my bathroom, as it's permanently covered in a thick layer of fluff!

One thing that is very obvious, is that these rolls are smaller than average rolls, in that the inner cardboard tube is bigger in diameter.

So....I'm coming to the end of my 4-pack now. I did intend on ordering more, but was astonished to realise that the 4 pack roll works out at 75p a roll....even using Subscribe and Save! Even if you buy the 45-roll pack, they work out at nearly 52p a roll!! (As of 23rd Aug 2020). I just can't afford that, so won't be buying any more.

Pros:
- seemingly environmentally friendly (although I haven't researched this)
- soft, very strong sheets
- apparently they don't shed as much fibre as ordinary toilet rolls
- if you use the inner cardboard roll for craft projects....it is very thick and much sturdier than normal ones

Cons:
- extremely expensive
- smaller than an average roll
- the bamboo fibres are longer, so not suitable for all toilets
- In 2020 I have noticed that many negative reviews on a whole range of products have mysteriously disappeared from Amazon. Usually the 1, 2, and 3 star reviews. That appears to have happened with this product too, as the 2-star reviews are missing!

This product is NOT reusable bamboo tissues! They have not been advertised as such - I am not sure why so many people are unclear that they cannot put these in the washing machine! Anyway - it's ordinary kitchen towel, although a fair bit stronger than that made with pulped paper. What you are really paying for is the ethical proposition from this product. It is not made by cutting down trees, it's made with bamboo - and not the bamboo that pandas eat - despite the name "Cheeky Panda". Bamboo grows at 10 times the rate of trees - making it the sensible choice.

The description still remains saying they use no fragrances and I know for a fact they didn't used to (that and the lack of bleach/dye were the reason I bought these in the first place,) but the recent orders of toilet rolls I received smell HEAVILY fragranced, which for me having hyperosmia is highly nauseating.

Either the toilet rolls are now being perfumed intentionally or theres a big issue with where they're being stored by them or Amazon (so that they're taking in scents around them,) please fix this issue!

Edit : This has continued to be an issue, I don't recall when I made the initial review anymore but it's currently the 11th of November 2021 and the rolls came scented yet again.

Smaller than the usual toilet roll and the 3 layers are actually thiner than an usual 2 layer toilet roll. Probably that’s why this toilet roll looks smaller. But I ended up using more paper than I normally do per use, so I don’t feel I made a great choice with this brand, although I do appreciate their sustainability ambitions.

Helping to save the planet wiping my arse, is well worth the premium price tag. 1 thing I didn’t like was all the extra cardboard it came it. Some how felt a touch less eco friendly.
Haven’t tested it blowing my nose yet, but if the primary use is anything to go by the results should be pretty good also
