Finally found the perfect face wash!

I am not a dermatologist so can't base any of my review on science or anything like that. My review is based on my past experience with skincare, products I have used in the past and how my face feels since using this foam cleanser.

Me:
I have oily skin and have always battled with blackheads on my nose and get isolated blind pimples and whiteheads.

After trying what feels like 100's of different face washes starting from a teenager using Clearasil (like most teens?) I went through loads of different products and regimes and never found my skin to balance out, always becoming really oily in the afternoon and still often getting breakouts (I realised diary was a trigger so have also cut this out of my diet - it is important to know diet also effects your skins health)
Even the expensive Kiehl's products just weren't working long term.

I started using benzol peroxide and found my skin did improve but found it dried my skin out completely even with thick moisturisers so I kept looking.
Using face washes with Salicylic Acid definitely helped but the results always seemed short term.

CeraVe:
I came across this brand due to there being a sale at my local pharmacy. I thought it was worth a try as the product appeared high end but at an affordable price (compared to Kiehl's and ClarinsMen)
First wash and I was incredibly impressed. My skin no longer felt oily but it didn't feel dry! I decided to purchase CeraVe Moisturising Lotion to complete my routine and have been very happy.

My facial skin feels softer, plumper and overall just better condition and doesn't ever feel dirty oily (if that makes sense)

I have had hardly any pimples in the past year and a half using these products and would highly recommend this brand

I’ve tried so many facial cleansers but always find that they strip my skin - I have oily combination skin so finding the right cleanser that cleans my skin but is also gentle has been difficult.

One thing to note, when I received my item the pump attachment had snapped - the pump doesn’t feel very durable.

The Cerave cleanser is a clear liquid cleanser, I need about 1.5 to 2 pumps from the larger 1L to produce a thick enough lather - it works nicely over my skin, when I am working it into my face I can see my skin become soft and smooth.

I’ve ditched my beard shampoo and I am currently using this to clean my beard whilst I am cleaning my face. I have noticed that my beard doesn’t feel as dry as it used to and the skin under my beard feels a lot better. It doesn’t leave facial hair coated in anyway at all.

Whilst there is no scent, there is a slight smell to it which is very neutral.

When rinsed, my skin feels refreshed and clean - my skin looks brighter and my skin feels soft. This is ideal for sensitive skin, it does not irritate the dry areas on my cheeks.

Overtime, I’ve noticed my skin looks better - the appearance of my skin is noticeable, I get less blackheads/spots and my pores are visibly reduced.

I absolutely love this cleanser, I highly recommend it!

I have oily, sensitive skin with mild acne and rosacea, for reference. This is an ideal cleanser for me. There is no added fragrance to irritate my skin. It is just the most bare-bones, effective cleanser for normal or oily skin. I have also tried the Hydrating version when my skin was more dry, and it is also very effective. After using this cleanser, my skin feels clean but not stripped. I will continued to repurchase this cleanser forever. The giant bottle is great if you know you love the cleanser, to save on waste and hassle. It does come in smaller bottles if you are trying it for the first time and want to see if it's right for you.

My oily, blenish prone skin absolutley loves this cleanser. This gets rid of my oil without over stripping, and my skin always feels soft and clean afterwards.

Brilliant price for so much product. Also fragrance free and not irritating at all, so great for sensitive skin.

This is my go to, daily cleanser, and I also love the hydrating cleanser (which I use when a little dry) and the salicylic acid cleanser (which I use when breaking out).

The product itself is good and appears to achieve what it claims, however my product was very poorly and loosely packed with other subscription items. I'm not sure if Amazon staff get a kick out of pin pricking little holes in the bottom of containers or someone played football with my package, but it [the face wash] had leaked everywhere from a small hole on the bottom. Like I say good product, but it might be pot-luck if your product hasn't leaked upon arrival.

started using this a few months ago having tried a few different cleansers. i bought the SA version and the foaming version of cerave. the foaming one feels great, leaves skin nice and smooth and not tight. The SA one i use occasionally but has a very off putting smell!. The foaming gel is now my go to cleanser and the other half has also converted after trying it.
