My car is an alcoholic. It drinks like an irish sailor at a wedding. If it's not the fuel running low, the AdBlue running low, it's the screen wash running low or the engine coolant running low. No, there are no leaks. It's just thirsty... all the time.

But i'm not a cheapskate either. So bought this because i'm an enabler of the my alcoholic Audi. Did it do the trick? 100%. Did I almost over fill the dam thing being so eager to shut it up? You bet.

My advise? Buy a car which knows how to use a straw and isn't downing pints because it has nothing better to do.

Oil arrived unsealed and the machanic at the garage confirmed there was about 0.5l missing (the box was dry so no leak during the delivery). Not sure if i received what i paid for. I DON'T RECOMMEND.

I checked the barcodes on Castrol.RU and the result was a fake product. The canisters look like original bottles but under closer inspection the manufacturing dates on the back and bottom do not match. Don't buy and ruin your engine!

It might be a little difficult to see but the first picture is just showing that the cap seal is still there, and second is that it is weighs about 0.5kgs less than it should. So the people that is worried about being robbed are probably right. I don’t know enough about the metrics in regards to this to be able to give the details about oils weight / liter etc. But I am still happy with the purchase. First one I found and is hopefully the right oil. But starting to doubt that as well now :)

I bought a 2008 Golf plus 1.9 PD TDI, first I bought a filter and some cheaper oil from a well know UK supermarket to flush the engine, i ran the car for a 2 weeks at first then drained the oil and put the same 5w 30 in again which was noted to be the lower 504 oil for the car which needs changing more often anyway, I ran the car for another three days with a second load of economy brand oil then drained that after coming off the motorway, changed the oil for this product and again a new oil filter, I did this because the woman who owned it before me seemed to think swapping the oil every 12-18 months was good servicing EEK! Good servicing is every 6 months as a PD engine is extremely tough on oil
Anyway there was a significant difference in the engines running over all after it had a good flush out and then Castro, edge put in.

I have always used Castrol in my cars and Land Rover so I was delighted when VW recommend Castrol,

Please note if you have a PD engine it is extremely hard wearing on the oil so putting in quality oil will make a huge difference to the engines over all wear and I will be changing the oil every 6 months weather it needs it or not

Fantastic product. Always buy your car manufacturers recommend oil for a longer lasting performance and reliability. My car has an indicator like most stating top up oil. This is normally 1l every 6-9 months depending on millage. So will last me 2 years minimum and I’m doing about 1300miles a month. You go into many places and there offering on brand for a few quid less, it’s not worth having to get your car drained as it starts to get older because parts and as well lubricated as the can be. Massive saving compared to buying the same brand via retail. Probably cheapest I have purchased this at. Most companies that offer oil and promoting there own brand for a lower cost. It’s like using supermarket fuel. Eventually it’s going to cost you and cause problems. This is why taxi companies that hire out cars tell there drivers not to use supermarket fuel. It’s the same with oil. Spend a little more and save in the long run. Always use manufacture recommended products as it will always save you in the long run. So many friend I know having to pay extras for parts as a bolt has seized up so a 5 minute job becomes a 3 day wait for a new part. Only my opinions but most car enthusiasts will agree. The better care you take of something the longer it will last.

I work for BP, so I know this is some of their best lubricant products. Its a high performance oil, suitable for my S5 audi. Only issue I have is the quantities oil seems to come in these days - what car takes 4 litres of this sort of oil ? Anyway its a fraction of the cost Audi dealers were wanting for the same fluid, so its a no brainer - buy 2 cans, do your oil change yourself or self supply to dealer and pocket the savings from manual labour cost only. Came super quick with Amazon prime.

while the correct oil for your car is important, please do not under estimate the importance of the additives within the oil, NOT ALL OILS ARE CREATED EQUALLY.
This oil is top speck and while shopping arround this oils was prices at £58+ all the way up to £70. if you own your car and want the engine to last then buy good quality oil...
