Blackout: I've enjoyed playing Fortnite and PUBG over the past year or so and have overall enjoyed the "Battle Royale" era of games, but Blackout sadly doesn't amaze me any way. The mode itself plays exactly the same as the other games, you have to find loot, survive the closing zone and be the last player standing, the addition of vehicles is ok but other than that it's just a reskin of a now over-saturated trend. Having to be locked into first person makes things more difficult as well. Personally I wouldn't play this mode too much anymore.
Zombies: The Zombies mode keeps getting bigger and shows no signs of slowing down, I couldn't tell you what the story is supposed to be at this point! It's a far cry from the WaW days of just surviving as many waves as you can, but it can still play like that should you wish to. It's still fun to play with friends so I don't have any complaints about the mode.
Multiplayer: Multiplayer is the main reason I bought the game, after playing a lot of the slower paced Battle Royale games I wanted to get back into fast paced multiplayer, but so far the experience as a whole has been somewhat disappointing. The map options seems woefully small, there are plenty of reworked classics (Firing Range, Jungle etc) but there is little chance to experience a wider variety of maps in a session, in the space of 90 minutes I had played the same 3/4 maps constantly, it's clear that these are fan favorites, but playing them becomes really tedious very quickly. I'm sure more maps will be added soon enough (More DLC anyone?)
The two biggest problems with Multiplayer are the guns and the pacing of games, don't bother using anything other than an Assault Rifle of an SMG, everything else falls well short of these two, LMG's become obsolete as the AR's can easily shoot full auto at range, Shotguns rarely kill in one hit meaning that you will be floored by anybody using an AR or SMG before you can even attempt to get your second shot off, and players move far too quickly for you to consistently use a sniper.
The second big issue is the pacing of games played, due to how fast players can move around the map now the spawns flip at a simply awful rate, not 30 seconds after spawning and they'll flip on you meaning there's nothing you can do to stop it. There is little flow to the games and it's difficult to amass any sort of scorestreak due how quickly the spawns flip. Admittedly I wanted "fast paced" but the reality is you spend so much time trying to avoid getting spawn killed and having to constantly check behind you it really does leave a bitter taste in the mouth.
This is CoD back to where it should be and none of that mumbo-jumbo walking on walls rubbish over the last couple of years.
The maps all look familiar in one way or other and plenty of accuracy online gameplay matching that makes for fairer matches in my view.
Overall I’m very happy with the game and can see myself spending many happy hours on this, once I get my kids off of!
Overall, highly recommended.

In short, I know what makes Call of Duty good. This one genuinely shocked me, I was pretty much done with COD after being disappointed for years but I decided to give Treyarch a final chance. They completely nailed it.
Multiplayer : The actual core gameplay WORKS, the shoot first die first is actually rare now, your bullets usually connect and the better player wins the gunfight, no more coin flip gunfights!
Blackout : The best thing COD has done since league play. I’m shocked at how good this is, the connection is somewhat stable, there’s quite a lot of texture glitches which is expected at launch but it will only get better.
Graphics are OK but just standard COD graphics, people don’t seem to realise that COD has always been about smooth gameplay over amazing graphics.
Maps and guns are fine, I personally like that they brought back old maps because they’re all connected anyway in the Black Ops series.
Zombies is actually fun again, it’s gotten stale over the years for me and they’ve revived the fun for me.
I don’t miss the campaign because it looks like they used that time to really nail Multiplayer, Blackout and Zombies which will give you more than enough content for your money.
DON’T listen to the people giving it 1 star, make no mistake this is a great COD which I’m surprised to say. These people clearly aren’t COD players.
