The IEC 320 C13/C14 connectors are based on standards created by the International Electro-technical Commission, an international standards body. The "320" refers to the number of the specification that describes power connectors. The official text of the standard is actually numbered 60320, but common vernacular usage shortens it to 320. The C13 line socket is very common in the PC and A/V industry. Amazon list this as a 13amp fuse but it comes with a 10amp and even has 10amp moulded onto the wire. I would just swap it out but if they're moulding on the wire 10amp, it makes me wonder if the quality is sub bar and not up to handling 13amp.

Probably fine (don't blame me if you try it and things start making magic smoke) but incorrect listing alone gets it a swift return from me.

This is important. Apologies for the 1 star rating throughout, but I need this to be noticed.

Advertised as coming with 13A fuse. Mine didn’t. It came with a 10A fuse. I want it to feed power to a 3kw load. I changed the fuse & am not too concerned about that, but the cable got very hot. At first I thought supplier had simply shipped the wrong product in error, but cable diameter is 6.7mm as advertised.

I believe this product is not suitable for carrying a 3kw load. It should not be fitted with a 13A fuse.

Otherwise, prompt delivery, quality looks just fine if all you want to do is carry the load of a computer or something similar.

Bought this to replace a failing lead on a Swan 3.5 litre kettle that was sparking and smoking (simply worn out). It does the job fine so far.

I hesitated though. A number of reviewers have pointed out, quite rightly, that the lead is stamped 10 amp, and yet a kettle needs a 13 amp fuse. This is very clear on the pictures on this site which represent the lead accurately This is concerning.

What I have found though, here and elsewhere, is that virtually every available replacement kettle lead that I have seen is similarly stamped. The cord itself, in terms of thickness and insulation, matches that supplied with my kettle originally. And the lead was supplied with a 13 amp fuse fitted.

I dearly wish that the supplier could address this issue in the listing. I would have been more reassured and felt less like I was taking an unwarranted gamble. As far as I can see I didn't, but the vendor does have some responsibility (and surely some self interest?) in explaining their product to buyers.

Of course, I will remain watchful though, just in case.

I bought this short lead to power up a TC Electronic G-Major 2 19" rack mounted guitar effects unit. Space is very limited in any rack case and more so in this replica Brian May touring and guesting mini rig which has a Canford EMO 19" rack mounted power supply board which restricts routing space at the rear of the unit.

I was quite satisfied that the quality of this lead is up to the standard of a pro audio system, so domestic applications should be no problem. It is sufficiently flexible to allow tight routing. Handy if your appliance s close to an electrical power socket and you don't want or need a long trailing power cable to clutter up a desk or cause a trip hazard on the floor. Recommended.

We purchased two of these as replacements for other leads that came with European type kettle leads. They have been fine but after reading the other reviews mentioning they are fitted with a 10 amp fuse not 13, and concerns about how suitable they are for some purposes I thought I'd better check our and both are fitted with 10 amp fuses.

This isn't a problem for the uses we have for them but might be for others so please use your own judgement here.

This product is well constructed, with a sturdy connector which has no give whatsoever which is excellent, considering this was to be used as a power cable for my PC's power supply unit and a cut of power would be very inconvenient.

If you're wandering about length, the 2m is more than enough and it reaches any nearby power socket for me. Unless your device is extraordinarily far away from the socket, you'll be fine.
