Great doorstop.
My kitchen doors are fire-doors, so they automatically close themselves. My cat doesn't care about any of that though, and will just sit outside the kitchen door meowing until someone lets him in there... which he then proceeds to do a circle of the room, then demand to be allowed back out of the door which has now closed itself.
He's now free to do his laps between the rooms without depending on the humans!
