Best of all, this book shows conversations in image, where you have the image, the English translation and then the actual sign language translation.
So for example, there may be an image depicting someone asking somebody their name.
Whereas in English we say 'What's your name?', the actual sentence structure in sign language is 'Name you what?'
Both the English translation of the sign and the actual Sign Language translation are shown under each image.
Don't expect to be at an advanced level after reading this, it will teach you the basics to give you a solid foundation on which you can then build. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn the basics of sign language
Wish there was a section for medical things. For example: ambulance, hospital, medication, doctor, allergic, pain, etc.
Hoping to use this book to get some qualifications in sign language as it looks great on a job resume and it's important to be able to communicate with those in your local area, and they're so apprechiative of someone bothering to learn a few phrases to be able to communicate with them.
Great price and when you buy with betterworldbooks they use the profits to fund libraries and schools and teach people to read. (Not an ad, i genuinely think they're amazing)
The book is very neat and well laid out, which means readers aren't likely to get bogged down with endless paragraphs about grammar and sentence structure!
So, if you're a complete newbie or even if you are already a BSL user and want to brush up, then look no further because this book is fantastic. :-)
