Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
I reverted to leaving the shaver soak in four inches of warm water overnight, with a few squirts of good old fairy liquid in.
By the morning, the shaver and the foil was like new.
Try it and see.
Alternatives include flushing an empty cartridge out and refilling with isopropyl alcohol diluted with a little tap water (or it won’t show green in the cleaning station). It’s quite messy but a £10 bottle will refill about 20 times.
These official ones are nicer but they don’t seem to last very long at all, making the whole experience feel a bit like a ‘printer ink’ way of getting more money. If these cartridges were about £2-£2.50 I would buy them without complaint but at 5-6 each I’ll always be looking for unofficial alternatives
I bought these on the 27th December 2016. I am still yet to use them! I clean my shaver every 3-4 days. I am STILL on the one that came in the box!. These units seem to last a fair while and I have no sign as of yet of the one I am using drying up, I even cleaned my shaver every day for about a week to test it. Worked every time. I will never wet shave again while Braun make these systems. I am THAT impressed overall.
Like others have said, if you only the cleaner use twice a week 3 packs could easily last 9 months, As I type this I am still showing the full light on the one that came in it - and it's nearly 3 months now!
When the razor has gone through the cleaning cycle it smells fresh and clean and I know that it has been disinfected and the blades have been lubricated.
This cleaner does a great job and although it is an added expense, personally for me it is worth is to have a nice clean & fresh razor every few days, with the added bonus of the solution lubricating the blades, so potentially it will make them last longer.
Personally, however I ignore the recommended practice of running a cleaning process daily, or when the "clean" LED illuminates on my shaver, but instead do it only when it needs a recharge. I'm sure this saves me a fair bit on refills and seems to work very well.
Another tip is to actually give your shave head a bit of a shake out and dust-off with your supplied brush to remove the excess shavings, prior to running through the cleaning process. In this way you don't clog up your cleaning liquid with excess detritus, making it last longer.
Finally, I find you need to allow some time, an hour or so, for the shave head to dry off after cleaning, otherwise you're shaving with a damp shave head.
The empty containers can be recycled if you have plastics recycling which is good too. Also Braun replaced my base unit for free when it broke, which was nice. I assumed this is because they make their money on the refills, but don't quote me on this. Worthy purchase!
I only need to shave every other day so each cartridge lasts me two months (30 cycles as claimed by the manufacturer) and each 3 pack therefore lasts me six months; at around £25 for two packs a year I don't think it is too much to pay for the convenience and the clean, fresh feel of this system - if I had to buy four packs a year I might feel differently.
Finally, I don't know whether other users have experienced this problem but from time to time when I take the shaver from its holder and start to use it the shaver head is still wet and it drags on the skin a little which I find uncomfortable. I have no idea why this happens as I have done nothing differently; fortunately, it's a fairly rare occurrence.
I have since enquired about the price of this item in the same chemists and the difference is now much smaller. Amazon is still just ahead on price but I wonder for how much longer.
I have had a 'smart' Braun shaver for years and the usual means of cleaning the cutting surfaces is to place it in a special cleaner+charger unit which accepts these refill cartridges. I could clean the shaver manually but I prefer the automatic method which means I have no choice but to purchase these refills. However, I am not prepared to pay a ridiculous price for them. Why a refillable cartridge hasn't been produced baffles me.
Many high street chains charge absorb prices for their products and I think this maybe a reaction to the rates councils charge for these businesses. It does not surprise me that people turn to online purchasing.
