Braun should make a suitable refill for these cartridges to save wasting plastic and wasting the planet, not to mention the excessive cost.
If they can make the solution to put into the cartridges they could make it to retail in litre bottles. It is their profit motive that makes trying to find suitable alternative solutions almost impossible.
Warning after warning that buying this solution in bulk could damage your shaver.

A high end battery powered shaver with automatic cleaning and charging

This is a relatively expensive model, but worth it in my opinion. Not having used an electric shaver before I can't say how it compares with others, It doesn't shave as close as a wet shave with a conventional razor, but I found it faster and more comfortable.
Where it scores compared to cheaper models is the Clean and Charge Station. After a shave you just put the shaver into this unit, press a button and leave it to get on with the job. It then operates the cutting head while rinsing d with an alcohol based solution, recharges the battery, then shuts down. The advantage of using alcohol is that it disinfects as well as cleaning.

There are running costs -the cleaning solution should be replaced every days, end the cutting head every 18 months. Nevertheless these work out a lot cheaper than buying replacement razor blades. I'm pleased I took the plunge and changed to this electric shaver

The value pack is really a great deal and the quality of the cleaner is excellent – my Braun cleaning station is very satisfied while the blades are well cleaned, disinfected and lubricated.

So I feel ripped off as the pack of 6 is more expensive and does not include one free as your actually paying for it
My advice would be to check out the price of a 3 pack first as two would usually be cheaper than this 5 plus 1

Refreshing fragrance and cleans the shaver really well which is what its supposed to do. Try to make it last a few weeks longer and it goes off and your shaver will smell like armpits so as soon as it start to lose its fresh fragrance, change it for a new one and you will be happy - 6 weeks is the limit!. Purchased in a multi pack like this and they're reasonably good value.

I recently purchased the Braun Series 9 which came with the cleaning and charging station. You get one 'complimentary' cleaning cartridge with the shaver but ultimately this is the first of many consumable cartridges you'll purchase throughout the lifetime of the shaver and cleaning station.

Braun recommend you clean the shaver in the station after every use and replace the cartridge every month. So with every day use you'll need 12 cartridges a year for the best cleaning experience.

Buying this 6 (well, 5 + 1) pack is the best value way to buy them and you save a few pennies. I'm keen to look after this shaver because it's quite an expensive model, even when on offer.

These cartridges not only clean the shaver (with something that smells very much like Iso Propyl Alcohol), lubricates the cutting blades and it also leaves a lemon scent which can be likened to Lemon Sherbet sweets and is actually quite pleasant!

A while ago I used the cleaning station only on a weekly basis but recently decided to use it more often after reading reviews and recommendations from the shaving sites. The razor now gets cleaned about every other day and I find it fresher, with a nice scented smell and it runs more efficiently. Trying to save the cleaning cartridges in some ways is false economy because the cartridge looses its effectiveness and the cleaning is not so good. I aim to get up to month out of one cartridge and then replace it. If you've got them use them!
This six pack is excellent value for money.

Still seemed to be the same solution though (maybe different scent?)
