I very rarely leave negative reviews. This, however, warrants it.

I've been wanting an electric shaver for years, and thought the price on this one was great. If I'd bought it for the RRP I'd be in tears right now. It's just taken me over 20 minutes of scraping with this weak machine to get what was once a 30 second job with my hair clippers.

I started with a lathered foam, in the shower - I was essentially just rolling the metal foil over my face with no effect at all. I then washed out all the foam and started again. It was better but, even after washing the head out every 5 seconds, I was making very slow progress. Finished the shower looking like a drunk Edward Scissorhands had just attacked my face, only to spend another 5 mins painfully finishing off, once dry.

I'm now red raw, the best part of £60 worse off, and still finding unshaved areas on my face.

Very disappointed. Such a shame as I was really looking forward to these.

Side note (nothing to do with the item and has in no way affected the review): the delivery driver left my parcel propped up against my door on a busy street! If it wasn't for a good neighbour, I'd have never received my shaver... on second thoughts, maybe he/she was trying to do me a favour!

This is just a gimmick, it doesn’t do anything, I’ve tried going softly, tried pushing harder, tried wet and dry, all the same result
How can you sell this as a shaver when it simply doesn’t cut as one is intended
This item should be reported for false claims and advertising, Amazon should remove this item from the “shaving” section
Easily the worst purchase I’ve made this year, please don’t waste your money on this rubbish, you’d be better off flushing the money down the toilet

Great bit of kit. After one year I will replace the shaving block and head. After the second year I will order a new razor! Cheap, reliable, quality shaving! This replaced the same model that died after year 3. I've done the top of the range £200 shennanigan and it's all a lie! Don't waste your cash. This shaves as good and IF worse, not noticeable so stick with this £30-40 model and replace after 2 years... it's clearly the way forward IMHO. Simples.

The first time I have ever bough an electric razer. Does not shave, I have to go over the same area over and over again to remove it, this is pathetic, two days of stubble and it can't get rid of it. For a shaver that originally cost a ton I am glad I didn't buy it at that price. Will be returning it. Not worth the money not worth the effort and not worth the time. And yes I fully charged it before using for the four hours. A rip off. It's left my face patchy as is.

Probably the worst purchase ever!
They say "Close shave, smooth skin, faster shaving with great skin comfort". Well, you can see from my pics that wasn't comfortable at all and it's been 3 days and my skin is still very bad. I spent over 30min to shave, so not faster! "Wet or dry" I started dry but wasn't efficient so I put some lotion and got better but still over 30min to finish, so "efficiency & skin comfort" shouldn't be words to define this. "More hair into the cutting parts". If you look through my pics you can see that I'm not hairy at all and if I need to spend over 30min every time I need to shave, better to just grab some blades from Boots.

Good for Sensitive Skin

My skin is a little sensitive so was a little worried that an electric shaver would irritate the skin as previous shavers I have used have done. But this was a surprise. I have only used it as a dry shave to try it out and it shaves as close as a razor without very much discomfort.
The blade area does get a little hot though after using it for about 5 minutes and there is very minor dryness and irritation after using it but not much more than a wet razor shave and nothing that would prevent me from using it again.
For sensitive skin users like myself I would recommend this shaver if you are looking for a convenient shaver without having to wet your face and lather up. But I would recommend using an after shave balm to help cool and moisturise the skin afterwards.

Anyone reading this remember Victor Kiam? Well back in the day I tried all 3 of the prominent brands and was never as motivated as Victor was – even if I’d had the money. So after 40 odd years of razors, I was intrigued by the advent of electrical wet shavers and had been thinking about giving it a go for some time. At my own request the S3 was bought for me as a Christmas present.

I have tried it dry, I have tried it wet with shaving gel. After 10 minutes of shaving with the S3 I can drag a conventional wet razor across my face and feel it cutting the stubble that the S3 has left behind.
I see amongst the reviews that some people are delighted with it, and that’s great. But we are all different and if like me you’ve struggled with electric shavers in the past then the S3 is unlikely to give you the shave you crave.

It seems to me that the basic argument remains. With the foil between the blade and your skin it is never going to shave as well as a razor. I've given it 2 stars as it may have a place in the overnight travel bag for convenience but I can get much better results with a razor and in less time. I still don’t have the money, but even if I did, I wouldn’t be buying the company.
