It’s not bad for an official item, all the pieces go together ok etc. but at £55 through a third party on Prime the price is outrageous for what it is.
I would expect it to be twice the thickness than a mere 6mm of what’s essentially just standard foam. I’ve got my hot tub on a patio but still had to protect the base with some additional protection from the odd sharp edge or chipped slab as I don’t really trust it.
This should be a free item with your hot tub, especially the more expensive ones as it probably costs less than $10.00 to manufacture in Asia. If you can wait don’t bother buying this get some thicker heavy duty rubber that’s at least 10mm like you would find on a gym floor.
The first thing I noticed was that the mat is actually quite thin but to my amazement is very tough.
My spa is sat on gravel and with this mat it can no longer be felt on the knees.
I used to use gym mats and they would smell because they struggled to dry out but these dry nicely and definitely help keep the spa insulated.
The colour is pleasant and adds to the quality aesthetic of the whole spa.
They are great mats, they fit my tub perfectly and also have a mat for the pump which is nice. The click together very well and are nicely rounded easy to use and are great quality. They are even stamped with the Lay Z Spa logo - nice touch!
The downside to these mats are they are very thin, for £40 I would have expected a descent thickness, whilst being fully understanding of this is just a protector for the tub, I feel that for the price they should have been a bit thicker.
Other than that, I'd recommend these mats for what they are. There are cheaper alternatives out there which would do the same thing and be just as good, if not better. However I'm the type of person that likes buying the genuine kit for the product. Just personal preference nothing more. I could certainly have done this a cheaper way.
Overall: I'd buy it again if I had to. Hope the information given here helps you in some way!
This is paying for the brand name.

We have tracked temperature with and wihout this daily and found absolutely no benefit on additional heat retention from using this. It is much thinner than I expected and therefore does not give much of a lip at all around the hot tub (I was hoping for a lip so could stand on it when your getting in and out and not the floor. I wouldn't recommend and wish we never bought.
