For the past 10 years, back-2-nature has been providing comfy and safe little homes for our smallest of pets through their Small Animal Bedding & Litter. Made from 99% recycled paper, back-2-nature’s flatter and ridged pellets allow for moisture to be absorbed rather than sitting on top of regular bedding, leaving the most delicate of feet dryer and less prone to irritations from standing in wet materials. With a flatter surface area, back-2-nature offers a safer experience for little paws and ankle joints as the pellets don’t roll around when hopped or scurried across. Sterile at point of manufacture Back-2-Nature is low in dust reducing the irritations that occur from hay and pine shavings. back-2-nature Small Animal Bedding and Litter can be composted once the waste is removed, but we recommend you check with your local council. Suitable for rabbits, rodents, ferrets, birds and reptiles.

I use this product in the base of my rat cage for my 6 boys, because it keeps the odor away for at-least 3 days, and it isn't very dusty. Being dust -free is essential for all rats because of their delicate respiratory systems, but is especially important for me as one of my older rats has a congenital respiratory condition. I've been buying this brand for almost 2 years and have never had any problems with the product.

Unfortunately my latest bag contained shards of plastic. As I use this for rabbits, and they have a tendency to eat their bedding, I won’t be buying it again. Hard objects like plastic can cause obstructions in a rabbit’s GI tract which is usually fatal. Too big a risk to take, sadly, as everything else about this product was good; absorbent, no smell, etc.

After trying many types of litter for my rabbits this has been the best so far.
I have 6 and they all have different toilet preferences and behaviour and this particular litter caters to all of their needs and quirks. It's absorbant, does control odour (but do not expect a fragrant artificial smell.) and is fairly easy to clean.
It mostly remains in pellet form but in the summer when the buns drink a lot more it can become a little cakey at the bottom of the tray (the top remains pellet so liquid does filter through it seems) but is easy enough to tap out of a tray from the bottom.

Tl:Dr good succ, little smell, slight cake but mass rabbit owner approved.

I use this for the bottom of my bird cages (budgie and cockatiel). They can't access the litter as it is in the litter tray under a metal wire floor.
I originally used newspaper but it just wasn't absorbent enough. With this any water they manage to get on the litter tray doesn't create a nasty swamp and it can be regularly spot cleaned easily and topped up as needed (with full cleans in between). It also catches waste food pretty well (like millet husks) so it doesn't fly around when the birds flap around.
Overall I'm really happy with it. It's obviously more expense then newspaper but it is bio-degradable and far better for controlling spills and water.

Amazing little smell with this from boy bunny , his 12 weeks but can really scent. Only negative is Amazon sent in original package so bag damaged and damp , with it being paper not ideal plus privacy. Prefer option for concealed delivery. Plus bigger bags, as change his washing up bowl daily as his a good boy and does all his business in bowl , house bunny and his very clean.

I use a lot of this as we have two long haired( rescue) rabbits and sawdust would be a nightmare!! I have also used it for guinea pigs and my daughter used it for pet rats. Although it is expensive I would still recommend it. I have also put some of the used litter as a mulch!! Works well!!

I've recently switched from dust extracted wood shavings to this as one of my rats has recently developed some myco issues. This bedding is usually used for litter trays, however I use it as a substrate for the bottom of the cage as it's not dusty at all and a very easy brand to come across.
