I have been using this for a while due to dry skin. The bottle is made of thick, albeit recyclable, plastic and the cream is very thick. The bottle has a narrow neck and wide interior. The design is such that about 20% of the product remains in the bottle. When you're out of the bath you haven't time to flaf around trying to get the product out. I tended to unscrew the plunger and bang the bottle against my palm. It actually hurts!
In the end I left the bottle and eventually got round to calling the company about the issue.
They said other people have informed them too, but unless there is a public outcry nothing will be done. If there is an outcry I'm sure they'll churn out the legally scripted meaningless drivel.
The fact is they use very thick plastic for such a small bottle and so much is wasted. It's totally irresponsible. And recycling is also energy intensive. The woman I spoke to, as representative of the brand, basically didn't care. She even said she tapes one bottle upside onto another and over a day it comes out. What a waste of time, and when I tried it it didn't work, the cream is way to thick for the neck. They sell a lot so make a lot of money. Profit trumps.
I ended up gathering bottles about 4 and cut them to get the cream out, which I decanted into a container where all the contents can be used. I got 500g from the 4 bottles, that's 25% of product wasted from each bottle.
Would they mind us paying them that much less? I don't think so.
I have used this for a few years, but will switch and also avoid this brand for everything.. Fairy included.
