I bought this for my 4K Fire TV, since I was having issues where sometimes the video over the wifi was stuttering. By switching over to a wired connection, it has since allowed for the streaming of 1080p and 4k content without any of the video stuttering issues I had previously.
Definitely highly recommended if you find the standard wifi streaming is not adequate. It is a shame the Fire TV didn't come with a port, but that's the fault of this device.
I would recommend not buying this immediately though and only purchasing it at a later date if it is actually needed.
Update September 2019: Still working well and I've since upgraded all my fire TVs in the house to Fire TV Stick 4K. So can now confirm i have tried it and got it working successfully on: Fire TV Stick 2nd Gen, Fire TV 4K (2017), Fire TV Stick 4K.
Update July 2020: It is still working fine, definitely recommend, especially if you're streaming 4K high bit rate content.

For what it is, it's incredibly overpriced, especially considering it's only 100Mbps.
Whilst this may be fine for the "typical user", it is unacceptable when the primary function of this device is to get a higher data throughput.
I acknowledge that this adapter still serves purpose if you have poor wifi signal in range of your Fire device, as this adapter will likely still help, though it is certainly far from ideal when streaming/seeking large/raw media files via LAN.
As per other reviews, these adapters do appear to cause network outages, making the router's control panel inaccessible (or incredibly slow) as well as preventing other devices from connecting to the network entirely (e.g. an Amazon Echo).

I found after purchasing the updated Fire Stick (with Alexa), that the WiFi signal kept dropping out in the rooms I had installed it. After finding that these rooms were a bit of a WiFi blackspot in my home, I invested in Powerline adaptors to extend the signal. I found, however, that this could still be a bit flaky so invested in this adaptor to hardwire the Fire Stick to the Internet via ethernet with the advantage of not having to run metres of cabling through my house. This solution had worked really well and I've only had to do a Powerline reset once or twice when there's been an issue with connection.
I would highly recommend this little adaptor, which I hasten to add can only be used with the new version of the Fire Stick (with Alexa), if liked me you experience problems with WiFi range at home and need a more secure connection to the Internet for uninterrupted Amazon Video watching.

even though amazon prompted me to purchase this while ordering a 4k fire stick the item is not compatible. The network settings have no option for a wired connection and although its all plugged in the fire stick is using your wifi not the wired connection. Waste of time and money.

First thing to mention is that this item is fully compatible with the 4K Fire Stick, it sets itself up it is simply plug and play, k have taken k ages of my TV screen Panasonic 55FZ952B OLED not that the model should mattwr, I am also running it through a hdmi splitter, and through a network hub, again plugged in set itself up as wired connection and switched automatically from wireless to wired, I have also powered the usb through a mains plug and not a usb port on the TV, I am very happy with this item and it's working better than ever, here is a link to my hdmi switch, I have one already which works perfectly UPDATE 09/09/21 I have recently swopped my 4K firestick for a 4K Nvidea Shield which is far superior and I am happy to report works perfectly with this Bluetooth device although does show up as headphones 🎧

Occasionally causes outage of my router- this has happened now with two routers from different manufacturers. During this event, I am unable to connect to the web interface of the router. Disconnecting the Amazon Ethernet Adaptor immediately restores access to the router. This has happened enough times for me to be certain that it's the Amazon Ethernet Adaptor that is causing the problem. It seems that I'm not alone in this.

If, like me, you have a borderline irrational hatred of WiFi and want to connect everything by cable, these will perfectly fit that niche in your life.
I would always say that if a device doesn’t move, you ought to get a cable to it. WiFi has its uses, but that should only ever be for mobile devices. Smartphones, tablets and laptops should use WiFi. Other devices should use Ethernet. These devices are inexpensive and allow you to connect your fire stick up by Ethernet. What could possibly be better than that?
